Treasure Island Poster Commission
A fully hand-drawn poster illustration commissioned by a collector, celebrating the classic pirate adventure of Treasure Island.
Illustration
I was invited to create an alternate poster design for a private collector who is passionate about pirate lore and vintage-style illustrations.
Drawing inspiration from the timeless adventure of Treasure Island and the rich visual world of pirate costumes and maritime epics, I produced a highly detailed piece, entirely hand-drawn on my Wacom Cintiq.
From initial concept sketches through to final rendering, the project allowed me to bring together dynamic composition, character-driven storytelling, and meticulous linework—with a bold graphic sensibility suited for print. The result is a poster that not only celebrates the spirit of swashbuckling adventure, but also translates seamlessly into a collectible art piece.
Why this project matters (and what it shows about my work)
Demonstrates custom illustration capability: I don’t just reuse templates—I tailor imagery specifically for the client’s story, theme and audience.
Showcases strong narrative and character sense: In a genre that’s rich in visual tropes (pirates, treasure maps, ships), I still delivered something unique and distinctive.
Highlights traditional illustration skills in a digital workflow: Even though the work is done on a digital drawing monitor, the feel remains hand-crafted and original.
Relevant to clients who need poster art, collector-edition prints, branding for vintage or themed events, or merchandise illustration.
