Labor Day Liftoff 2024

A mix of regular and drone footage mixed with custom 3D elements

3D Design

Motion Design

I was commissioned to create the entire visual identity and motion sequence for the “Labor Day Liftoff” campaign — comprising live footage, 3D model build of Hot Air Balloons, and a polished composite animation ready for broadcast, social channels and event promotion.

3D Modeling & Animation

  • Built the logo as a 3D asset using industry-standard modeling tools, ensuring clean topology, optimized geometry and motion‐friendly rigging.

  • Applied materials, lighting and cinematic camera movement to evoke a sense of lift-off — the logo appears to emerge, rotate, ascend and settle into a definitive motion position.

  • Animated the sequence at broadcast frame-rate, with custom renders that allowed for layered control (alpha elements, depth passes, ambient occlusion) to feed into the composite.

Compositing & Visual Effects Integration

Once the 3D renders were ready, I composited the footage to enhance the final look:

  • Imported depth, motion-blur and object-ID passes into Adobe After Effects (or equivalent) and layered in volumetric light streaks, particle trails, glow effects and motion-graphics transitions.

  • Matched the branding environment (color grade, typographic texture, subtle film grain) so the animation feels broadcast-quality and cohesive with the broader marketing materials.

  • Delivered multiple format outputs: high-res for event-screen playback, social-optimized cuts (vertical/ square), and loopable versions for digital signage or web placement.

Why this matters for your next project

  • End-to-end logo-to-motion service: I can take a concept from a static mark through to a full 3D animation and composite, giving you a fully motion-enabled brand asset.

  • 3D modelling + design synergy: Rather than just designing a flat logo, my process embeds modeling and animation potential from the outset — so your identity can live across mediums (broadcast, web, experiential).

  • Compositing expertise: My workflow doesn’t end at render — I integrate visual effects, thoughtful motion-graphics design and delivery-ready formats, saving you the separate cost of VFX/compositing outsourcing.

  • Versatility across channels: Whether your brief is a TV-open, a social clip, an event intro or digital signage, I can supply the relevant versions and manage the technical constraints for you.
