Into The Light Promo

Morning Team Promotion for KKTV 11 News Anchors

When KKTV 11 News tasked the creative team with elevating their morning-team branding, the mission was clear: produce a high-impact, 30-second promo that would capture attention, reinforce brand identity and engage viewers across broadcast and digital platforms. I led the full cycle — from concept and script through filming, editing, motion graphics and delivery — bringing the piece to life with precision and cinematic flair.

Morning news segments often compete for viewer attention in a crowded media environment. The client needed a promo that could:

  • Stand out on-air among other station stings and viewer distractions

  • Translate across platforms (TV broadcast, website, social media) while maintaining visual integrity

  • Reflect the personality and professionalism of the anchor team and the channel brand

  • Be produced within tight timelines and meet broadcast-spec technical requirements

My Approach

  • Concept & storyboarding: I developed a concise script and storyboard focused on the human side of the anchor team — dynamic visuals, engaging personalities, and a brand-forward aesthetic.

  • Filming & production: Leveraging a Canon C200 video camera together with a DJI drone, we captured anchor portraits, studio shots and aerials of the cityscape. The combined use of professional gear allowed for polished visuals with flexibility for motion design integration.

  • Editing & motion design: In post-production I used Adobe Premiere Pro for the initial edit and Adobe After Effects for the motion graphics: title animations, text overlays, transitions, colour grading and logo stings that aligned with the station’s visual identity.

  • Multi-format deliverables: I produced the final 30-second broadcast version, plus shorter cuts optimized for social media (15s, 10s), ensuring consistent branding across mediums with correct aspect-ratios and technical specs.

  • Quality & workflow: The project adhered to broadcast standards (frame rate, resolution, audio levels), and I set up organized project files, versioning, and hand-off documentation so future edits and updates can be executed efficiently.

Outcome & Value Delivered

  • The resulting promo elevated the morning-team segment’s visibility and brand cohesion — visually aligning anchor personalities and station identity in a memorable package.

  • The multi-format delivery meant the client could deploy the spot across broadcast, website, and social channels without re-editing or re-formatting — saving time and cost.

  • The content was completed within schedule and pre-production constraints, demonstrating reliability and readiness for tight-turnaround commercial assignments.

  • By blending footage capture with motion design and brand integration, the piece showcased a full-spectrum production capability, from concept through final delivery.

Why This Matters to You

If you’re seeking a collaborator for video editing, promos or motion graphics who can deliver more than “just the edit”, here’s what this project highlights:

  • End-to-end production expertise: From scripting and shooting, to editing and motion graphics, I manage the full pipeline.

  • Commercial-grade deliverables: Broadcast-spec output, multi-platform readiness, and attention to branding detail.

  • Motion design fluency: Animated titles, transitions, brand stings and graphical overlays that enhance storytelling and viewer engagement.

  • Efficiency and scalability: Projects delivered on time, with future-proof delivery formats and structure for reuse/variation.

If your next project involves a commercial spot, promo for broadcast or social, or motion design-rich video that needs polish, impact and a full-production partner — I’d love to discuss how we can bring it to life.
