Avid4Adventure Custom Leadership Poster

Graphic Design

In this project I collaborated with Avid4Adventure to deliver a large-format, visually engaging poster that celebrates leadership in the outdoors and supports their adventure education brand identity.

This work demonstrates not just my illustration ability, but also my capacity to conceive and execute compelling poster design—making it ideal for clients seeking branded print assets.

Concept & Illustration

The project began by aligning on the story: the poster needed to evoke energy, purpose, leadership and the spirit of exploration—core values for Avid4Adventure. I started with sketching illustrative concepts that captured motion, wild terrain and the leadership theme: figures or icons inspiring action, layered graphic elements, and a clear focal point. I explored several visual metaphors—peaks, pathways, guiding light—to emphasise the leadership journey.

Once the direction was approved, I moved into digital illustration: creating vector-art or hand-drawn elements (depending on the look), refining line quality, choosing a bold colour palette and designing composition with poster layout in mind. I ensured the illustration worked both at full size (for print) and smaller formats (for digital/social).

Poster Design & Print Execution

With the illustration in hand, I built the poster design with full print-ready considerations:

  • Large-format layout optimized for visibility and impact (event signage, classroom display, expedition launch walls).

  • Hierarchy of messaging: the headline or campaign tagline, supporting body text (e.g., call-out to leadership qualities or program details), brand identifier (logo, sponsor credit) and call-to-action or QR/URL if applicable.

  • Printed-media best practices: correct bleed/margin safe zones, color formatting appropriate for high-quality print (CMYK or specified print space), and file exports tailored for the poster size.

  • Visual cohesion: the illustration and typography were harmonised so that the mark and message “leadership in adventure” came out clearly and dynamically.

Brand Value & Versatility

  • The poster also functioned as a portable brand asset: I prepared versions that could scale — for print, for digital use (social posts, newsletters) and even as classroom or event wall art.

  • By starting with a strong illustrative mark and designing around it, I provided Avid4Adventure a distinct visual asset that strengthens their identity rather than simply being a generic print.

  • The ability to move from illustration → poster design → print/export means you’re not just getting a design piece—but a fully capable asset ready for deployment across media.
